NURSE / TECHNOLOGIST COURSE

Target Audience

This course is designed for Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Cardiovascular Technicians, and other Allied Health Professionals who are working in cardiac catheterization laboratories, EP labs, cardiac care units, and vascular areas.


Overview

The Northwell Health Nurse / Technologist Course is a one-day educational event designed to keep healthcare professionals up to date on the latest therapies and cutting-edge technologies in the industry. The Course will provide attendees with a foundation to incorporate new technology into his/her nursing practice and to utilize current clinical diagnostic information to assess and prioritize patient’s treatment needs. They will be trained not only by experts in the fields of interventional cardiology and electrophysiology but also by nursing peers.


Learning Objectives

At the completion of the course, participants will be able to:

• Explain the latest innovations for transcatheter-based therapies and how they apply to managing the patient in the hospital setting

• Describe cardiac diagnostics and imaging to optimize PCI Outcomes

· Discuss the emerging role of CCTA and CTFFR in CAD detection and treatment

• Review and understand the role of radial intervention and vascular complication treatments

• Comprehend mechanical circulatory support devices in the Cath Lab

• Explain the latest technologies in Electrophysiology and arrhythmia management 


Nursing Contact Hour Information

This nursing continuing professional development activity was approved by Montana Nurses Association, an accredited approver with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

2. Attend/Participate in Sessions – credit given commensurate with attendance.
