COURSE DIRECTOR

Babak Hassid, MD, FACC, FSCAI

Dr. Hassid is a Board Certified Interventional Cardiologist who is a recognized expert in transradial and complex percutaneous interventions. His clinical interests include complex coronary interventions, chronic total occlusion angioplasty, as well as coronary atherectomy. 


Dr. Hassid is also cross-trained to perform neuro interventional procedures in patients with accute stroke performing life saving procedures. Dr. Hassid is one of a few interventional cardiologists in the country who is cross-trained in neuro endovascular procedures. 


Dr. Hassid worked as the Associate Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and also as the Associate Director of the Cardiac Care Unit at Lenox Hill Heart & Vascular Institute. Dr. Hassid has also served on the faculty at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University. Dr. Hassid completed his Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at New York Presbyterian Weill-Cornell. 


Dr. Hassid has been and is still heavily involved in multiple clinical research trials.
